Wrong address in the Approval letter

Post by rpsarangi » Thu Oct 15, 2015 11:16 pm

Hi
I didn't notice the wrong address at PEO in the approval letter and now I am panicking what to do. I spoke with the call too.
what I did was I have filled the " Change of circumstance " form form at www. gov.uk/brp so that home address and correspondence address is update in the home office system and have wrote an email to the BRP delivery saying that the letter of approval have wrong address and want the BRP card to be delivered to the correct address.

Is there anything else I need to do?

The other thing " will the change of circumstance form just update the BRP system or the home office system for my home and correspondence address will be updated?

please help, too stressed...
thanks

Can anybody tell me what to do

Post by rpsarangi » Wed Oct 21, 2015 12:08 am

After the ILR is approved , I realised that the letter had my wrong address . I did managed to get the BRP delivered in the right address. But I tried calling HO to see if my address is updated but its not. Its still wrong.

Please help do I need to update the address home office have and and if I don't will that create any problem , while I apply for naturalisation?

If I need to update the address : how do I do that ?

thanks.

It will not have an effect on naturalisation application later.

Thank you CR001 for the reply.
I understand that you said that even if I don't the address that the HO have in data base which is wrong ( where I never stayed ) will have no effect in my next naturalisation application? Is that right .

The other thing is the link to the gov.uk/brp that you send ,the MCC form is for the people who are in tier and it doesn't have any other place where it makes applicable for the ILR people.

The online link to change the address after that says use this when you don't have a decision letter , but I do have the decision letter and the BRP too.

so if I want to update the address then none of the above hold good for me? is there another way for the ILR people?

The final thing which you have answered already : wants to makes sure that if I don't change the wrong address and leave it the way it is , it wont effect my further application?

thank you

Have you looked in the pamphlet you received with your BRP? It has a lot of information in and will likely tell you what to do.

Hi CR001
Thank you for the reply
I did fill the change of address form and using the section www.gov.uk/brp and used the option to do that online even if I have the decision letter.
I received an email from the change of address team requesting further information but basically almost the same info that was there in the online form but asking me to send a copy of the any recent communication from HO . I did reply them back instantly filling the details they needed and scanned the copy of the approval letter and attached that.
and explained that I have only filled the form coz the address is wrong in the approval letter and please update the home and communication address.

just for curiosity sake after 30 min I called the home office call center and asked about the address they have against me and to my surprise the address they have got now is the right address.

so I think the HO data base is updated for my address.

Thank you a lot for the help rendered.

If you read the whole thread, you will see that it has all been resolved and the OP has received his BRP.

hi CR001
I don't know if I am panicking for no reason or there is something to worry. As I said in my earlier post : I did email the BRP delivery team and got the BRP delivered to my correct address but by that time I had filled the online change of address form and I received am email from " change of address team " asking me for more details like my details and old and new address along with my home office reference number and any communication from home office.

I have replied them with my details and send them the copy of the approval letter with wrong address mentioning that I want to correct the wrong thing in my address printed in my letter and want HO to update my communication and home address.

Is there any thing to worry? ... I know the email is from change of address team , but I am panicking is there anything else they can do even though the case is already decided...

thank you
