Hi voxnihili

I haven't requested the passports back so far.. I know it can be done without changing the process timeline but If I won't use it why I'd request.. let them keep the passports and send when they finish the process.

If you'll need the passports I think you can request them with no problems.

Thanks

Leandro.
Hi Leandro,

Thanks for your reply.

We don't actually need them but I'm a bit concerned about those cases when the HO magically lose the passports. I'm still undecided on what should I do.

Has anyone request their passport in the last two weeks? I did it for mine and my husband's more than 10 working days ago. I haven't received them. I'm worried about it.

There's any number to call to aks for the status?

Cheers,
I submitted my online request on 05-Oct and received docs just five days later on 10-Oct. I did this after submitting my biometrics and one week before receiving my COA.
Did you guys request both passports or just the European one?

I want to get both back (EEA and non-EEA) but I fear they may refuse or delay the application because of this.

Thanks for any advice.
My partner has dual citizenship (US & IT) and he needed his passports for business travel so I requested that the HO return those two documents; the HO, however, took the liberty of also sending my US passport even though I did not request it.

Hello All,

Just to confirm the applications posted here are for the Non EU citizens applying for Residence Card correct?
I have two questions

1. Can the couple apply at the same time? or the EEA citizen has to apply first then after that the non EEA citizen
2. What is the timeline for the EEA citizen application for registration certificate.

I appreciate your help

Yes, and yes.

And I understand the timeline is the same. As far as I am aware, people who made joint applications with their partners, received the RC roughly at the same time...

Hello Kamoe,

thanks for the reply. So does this mean that we have to ignore the equipment in EEA 2 Application form that asks for EEA Registration of Certificate number?

Also, when submitting the application, do we have to submit the passport the same time?

Both of your questions are answered in the application document, itself:

"Only complete the sections of the form that are relevant to you. If a section does not apply to you, leave it blank." Thus, if there is not a registration certificate then it is to be left blank.

Regarding the passport you must send with your application "proof of identity and nationality (sections 1-3) – e.g. valid passport, travel document or national identity card for you, your sponsor and any family member included in your application. If you can’t provide any of these documents you must explain why and provide alternative evidence."

Quick update for September batch:

I received my biometrics letter yesterday Oct 20th and enrolled same day.

They took almost 20 days to send me a new letter after incorrect one. In one of the many phone calls I did, they said this department (biometrics) was running late for same reason...

Hi all
Does anyone know how long it takes HO to react on complaint email, or what happens after the email, if it happens at all. Or any advise please. I've sent yesterday complaint email about my EEA wife's passport. We asked passport back 22.09.15 and have not heard anything about it.
Thank you all

Hi all,

My question is about requesting documents.

We had requested our passports and received them separately in July.

Now we need some more documents (diplomas) that we send as we need them for job applications.

Can we request documents one more time?

Will it cause delay in RC? (so far passport request cause delay in COA in my case)

Cheers

Hi all May applicants who are waiting for their RC. Any good news>!!!
This wait is mentally and psychologically stressful and just cant comprehend why it is taking so long to check presented documents and issue RC.
HO staffs are so so lazy and deliberately delay everybody's application.
It took the German authorities 30 minutes to verify my marriage certificate and i was seated whilst they did the verification. It took less than 6 weeks to verify other documents and issue my RC.
Why it is taking the HO this long is beyond me. In a little over 2 weeks it will be exactly 6 months since i submitted my application, still, nothing from them.
I guess one should start preparing the pre-action protocol now cos i am going to email them once my application clocks 6 months exactly.
Fingers crossed, hope there will be response from them before then.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY EXPECTING RC. :D :)

I requested my passport online, and I got it within 10 workingdays and I send a spesial deliverybag, but when I send a complain about refusal of RC I have send e-mail to public.enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, and to the Home Office address in Liverpool. Try to request your passport online again

Hi Dubstar,

Both you and your wife's passports returned? Would that affect your wife's application?
My husband is Irish too. I have requested his passport back and received it. I want to request my passport back but don't know whether will affect my application.

Thanks a mil
Yes both passports were returned.
I believe it won't affect her application.
They will request I send her passport if needed.

Hi there !

I have been a silent follower of this forum for 2/3 months now. I got my BRC letter today. BRC should be with me in 10 working days !! It has been a long but worthwhile wait. I am on Tier 2 sponsored visa currently which is valid till 2017 so was in no real rush until the perfect job came along. Then the desperation kicked in :p They've been waiting since end of Aug, can finally give them the good news tomorrow.

Timeline:
Application sent: 29/05/2015
COA and passports returned: 10/06/2015
BRC letter: 21/10/2015

Good luck and thanks a lot for all the useful information you guys share in here !! It's brilliant - can't believe I once considered getting a solicitor to look into my case.

Thanks
