Expalnation of rules coming from 12 November 2015.

Post by hasan6223 » Wed Oct 21, 2015 12:52 pm

Hi

Is there anyone who can help me understand the new rules coming from 12 November 2015 regarding

"Applying to extend permission in the UK as a Tier 4 (general) student".

"From 12 November 2015, only Tier 4 (General) students who have, or who have last, been sponsored by one of the following can apply to remain in the UK as a Tier 4 (General) student:

a UK recognised body or body in receipt of public funding as a HEI; or
an overseas HEI if you are undertaking a short-term study-abroad programme in the UK; or
an embedded college.

The list above includes most UK universities. All other students who wish to continue studying in the UK with permission under Tier 4 (General) will need to return to their country of residence to make a new entry clearance application".

My situation is I am currently sponsored by an UK University Which is a HEI. I am studying in an associate campus but now the relationship between the university and the college has came to an end. Now In order to continue my existing course I will have to get a new CAS from the college and apply for an extension of visa. My question is Can I make in country application (As I have been last sponsored by HEI) or I will have to make it overseas. Thank you.

Thank you Sah10406 for quick reply. Does it mean I can apply in country even if using a private college CAS as I have last been sponsored by HEI?

Why is the private college CAS anything to do with it?

Is this Groundhog Day? One of the ways to be eligible to make your Tier 4 application in the UK is that you have, or [...] have last, been sponsored by ... a UK recognised body or body in receipt of public funding as a HEI;.
