Urgent! help Tier 2 visa CoS wrong end date

Hi everybody, my sponsor made a mistake on the end date of my restricted CoS, but I have already applied for a visa. Then I received a email from HO that I need to pay for a 5 year visa instead of a 3 year visa. Can I request my sponsor to add a sponsor note to correct the mistake? will they consider it after I have used my Cos to apply for visa?

they could add a note in cos notes to change the cos dates.

Is that really possible? because I asked my employer and they told me that once it was submitted and used for visa application you cannot add more any details. But I've read here that you can add some note to a CoS after assigning it to someone if there is an error, but I'm not sure if it is still possible after using it for visa application. Can anyone clarify this, I've done a lot of reading but nothing specifically answer my problem.

im in exact same situation.
My sponsor added note to the cos (changed dates to 3 years) and gave me supporting letter.
I posted those documents and waiting for home office reply.

ask your employer to open sms. if the cos says it is 'assigned', they can add a note.
if the cos says 'used' then they cant add a note.

once the cos is assigned, the employer can not make any changes to it, however, they can add a note to the cos, till the time the caseworker decides on the visa application and the status of the cos changes to used.

Yes they can add a sponsor note to mention a new date and brief explanation of the matter.
