Transportation and Drivers License

Post by texasdude » Thu Dec 09, 2004 5:52 am

How expensive is the public transportation (subways, trains, buses) in London? Are there any daily/weekly/monthly passes available? Is it more cost effective to take the public transportation or to get a car?

Do holders of US Drivers License have an easier time getting a Drivers License in UK? Can I just walk in, surrender my US Drivers License and get my UK Drivers License, or is there a long process involved in getting a Drivers License? If so, what are the steps of the process? Is it as easy to get a Drivers License in UK, as it is in US?

Public transport is the best in my opinion if you are working in central london. Its the preferred way for millions.

You have daily weekly, monthly and annually available passes (travel cards)

Here are some daily rates to get you started

You will need to look at the DVLA website to find out if you can exchange your US license and get an UK license.
