Went in Post office - check and send yesterday, but I didn't get anything back apart from a receipt with a barcode. Thanks.

I have applied through Check & Send service as well. I was also not sure if they have received my application or not so What i did is I called the enquiry help line and they confirmed that they have received my application. I think you can also call them.

I think you are right. but my friend he applied through online application and it was faster as it will also provide you status update online. I wish i would have applied through online service instead of using check&send service. I think i could be wrong that applying for passport online is faster.

I think we are in safe hands of 'Check & Send', after reading previous posts on the possible glitch of the beta online system that requires some of the applicants to complete the section of Grandparents info by sending an extra letter. That sounds rubbish.

I have a question if some 1 can help me out. Is dere anybody who s receiving job seeker allowance n other benefits , applied for first passport. Actually I'm on job seeker allowance and want to apply for passport. Just worried that receiving job seeker allowance makes any effect on application . I have read interview question and found that they ask about job as well. Plz do reply me if some 1 went through same situation as mine.

Hi all

i need advice from a senior member or someone face this problem

i send application for my 2 daughters last Monday and today i got a call from lady on passport office saying they cannot process my application because on my daughters registration certificate states her surname as smith and name as Judit Santos and on her Brazilian passport states her surname as Santos Smith and name as Judit
i contact the Brazilian consulate they informs due the Brazilian legislation Santos is part of her surname
even in her birth certificate states only Smith as surname Santos mum surname is surname
how i can deal with this ask home office to change on registration certificate or try to get another solution with passport office

Hi MraLondon Have you managed to find a solution regarding your. child's surname. I am in exactly the same situation as all my names are listed under the Surname section of my old passport. Let me know if you find a solution and I will also keep you updated of how mine goes.

Hi guys - very interesting case as this will probably be a problem to most Brazilians. I've got the same scenario with my surname (and rest of the family) but our British passport is being processed with no problems at the moment. (moving to Interview stage)

So maybe this depends on who in the passport office is processing the application? It is also worth highlighting that in my case I have been through the ILR process and then Naturalisation and as part of naturalisation they ask "how do you want to be know for"... which is where I chose to put my last name only and everything else became "first name". Per your example above, it would be Judit Santos (first names) and Smith (last name) in the certificate of naturalisation.

So maybe there is a difference between being naturalised and registered (born in the UK)?

I have applied for British passport at the same time as my citizenship application. It is a new service started in September which the HO is trying out (thanks to forum member called 'CR001' for the info!).

This is found on kent.gov.uk:

Passport application service
We are one of five pathfinder authorities offering customers a new service that allows you to apply for a passport at the same time as your citizenship application. Currently, once your citizenship application has been processed and you have attended a ceremony, you would then have to make a separate application for your passport which can take another 6 weeks. If you choose our new service you won't have to make a separate application and your passport will be sent to you after your citizenship ceremony.

I have just booked my appointment at London Globe House. The earliest possible appointment given to me was 10 days after.

My appointment was at London Globe House, too. I called them to book an appointment on 6th October and the earliest possible appointment date was 16th October.

I am glad my journey is over . Made a naturalisation application on the 25th of June , got approved 11 Sept and got my passport 23 of Oct . So in total it took me 4 months .It was not an easy job but i am not complaining at all . All thanks to the Almighty and wish all the best for those waiting
