I applied online: 4th August.
My Mrs had her biometric on: 10th August.
Documents reached Sheffield: 20th August.
Escalated on 6th October: in progress.
Escalated again on16th October: in progress.
Escalated yet again on 22nd October: this time no updates available.

I think I escalated too much so they thought not to give any updates this time.

My 60 days are going to complete on 2nd Nov.
Let's see if they have any answer by then or they put me on further hold.

Best of luck to everyone.
When you say you escalated it, did you send an email to request an update or do anything more than that? I don't understand when people say they escalated how it is different to simply asking for an update from them?

What do they mean when they say:

'Your application is in progress and you will be
contacted once a decision has been made or, if necessary, during the consideration of your application.'

Is it with an ECO or still waiting to be seen by an ECO?

Jzk
Yes that's wat it means!! But can u explain something how is gyour Sheffield mail date is early then document s submitted??
Sorry it was a mistake from me, I've now changed it to Sept. Jzk for spotting it.

Did you contact them and that was their reply? I have similar timeline to you and I contacted them and was told this:
Your application has not yet been assessed by an
Entry Clearance Officer (ECO). Each application is assessed individually
and processing times may vary, hence applicants are requested to be patient
whilst processing is completed. Your visa application centre or the entry
clearance officer (ECO) will contact you once a decision has been made or,
if necessary, during the consideration of your application.

So I think yours is currently being looked at otherwise it would say it has not yet been assessed like they said to me.
Yes I requested an update and that it wot they emailed me.

Does anyone know if you u can apply for the priority service after we have done biometrics.

I think it is unfair that those of who have applied and can be waiting upto 24 weeks or wot eva it is can't pay the extra fee and be put on priority service.

I submitted my supporting documents to Sheffield on 28/07/2015. I have realised that I did not send a pre-paid envelope. Its worrying because I have never received an email asking for the envelope. It has been over 12 weeks now and I have still not received a decision on my wifes' visa application. Any suggestion's or any ideas as to what I should do?

It has been 71 days since the date of application and 63 days since the date of biometrics (5 day week rule). I have asked for an update on numerous occasions and I get replied with the standard emails that the application is in process.

I a so worried and upset with the whole system and the way in which UKVI are handling Visa cases...
Online Application: 16/07/2015
Biometrics: 28/07/2015
Delayed Email Received: 13/09/2015
Escalated: 01/10/2015
Escalted: 23/11/2015
VISA GRANTED: 23/12/2015!!!!

From what knowledge I have gained, you are unable to pay the extra fee and have your visa application pushed forward as priority. If the fee is not paid on the day you submit the application, then it can not be retrospectively reversed.

This is what they said wen I requested an update:

'We have service level standards for processing UK visa applications. We will process 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the biometric taken date and 100% within 24 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date. Please note that we define 1 week as 5 working days.'

So even though we might think are 12 weeks are up they can still take upto 24 weeka to make a decision. Maybe you can try calling them for an update, although ders a charge for da calls £1.39 a min if I'm right.

Have saber inshAllah you will hear good news soon.

What my concern with the priority service is that in affect those who use it will be jumping the que. Those of us who were not offered the priority service wen we applied, are we going to have to wait longer now for a decision??

I'm worried that people using priority service will push back out applications, and ders not much we can do about it as we never had the option of priority service.

Sul786

I pray you have a decision in your favour because it's a very stressful to wait for a decision and when it comes it's not in your favour.
