TIER 2-> Tier 1 via 50k Venture Capital

Post by Amit_198705 » Thu Oct 15, 2015 10:57 pm

Hi everyone.

I am currently on tier 2 visa expiring on March 2018. But my sponsorer is not on list anymore. So I am thinking to file tier 1 visa via venture capital firm. I have forwarded my business plan to few venture capital firm & have got a positive response from a firm. Basically my business model is more towards business consultancy. Now my question is
1) I am director of 2 companies already although I don't draw any wages from any of the company. I owe 51% shares & 15% shares of both companies hence I am director too. I was director since the day the company was incorporated 2013 & 2014. Company was incorporated when I was on PSW visa before switching to tier 2.

Shall I resign as a director so that I don't face any issue with my tier1 visa application. Or it doesn't matter coz I am not on the payroll of any of the company. I am on the payroll of my tier 2sponsored company only.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Kindly me help me in clarifying y doubts.

I am almost certain that you would need £200k if you are planning to switch from Tier 2.

The £50k route is available to migrants who are on or were last on Tier 1 Grad Ent, PSW or Tier 1 G visas. Not Tier 2.

Thank you CR001 for your reply. But I would disagree with your reply.

Please read the table A.1 in tier 1 policy guidance. It states clearly who all can switch & under which category (50k,200k,VC OR GOVT SEEDED).

ANY ONE PLEASE COMMENT ON MY FORST POST. I AM EVEN MORE CONFUSED NOW.

THANK YOU.

From TIER 2 to TIER 1 Ent the only route applicable is 200K.
So verily, with every difficulty, there is relief.

According to Table A.1 on Page 13 of 78 in Policy Guidance (Sept 2015), Tier 2 applicants can switch to the following:

- £200,000 of own funds (cannot use £50,000 of own funds)
- £50,000 from Seed Funds, Govt Dept or Venture Capital Firms

Moreover, there is no requirement to have previously been in business
