New English Language Requirement - Indian Degrees

Post by tulipz » Tue Oct 27, 2015 3:01 pm

hi all,
My husband and I have degrees from India. Both the universities are on the PBS calculator and it awards 10points for the qualifications.

Is my understanding correct - that we can still use our degree certificates for English language requirement even after new rules come in Nov 2015?

Thanks
Tulipz

The rules coming into effect in November is for the English language tests (A1 & B1) and approved test providers. No changes as far as I am aware regarding degrees, PBS calculator or Naric.

Another quick question please:

I have a PBS calculator print out used for ILR application last year. Can I use the same print out?

If I have to take a new one, which of the current PBS options do I use? We came here on Tier1 General visa. But I can't find that option on PBS now!

Should be fine or if you do a new one to check the language award, you can choose Tier 2 G or Tier 1 Ent.

what check boxes will you tick, if you have Indian degree?
Is NARIC required or PBS points enough?
Has anyone with Indian degree got Citizenship without NARIC?

I have degree + Life in UK + 10 points, ILR date Sep 2013.

https://www.gov.uk/english-language

You can prove it by having either:

i an English qualification at B1, B2, C1 or C2 level
ii a degree taught or researched in English

I am eligible for option (ii) as per PBS.
But the AN form uses word NARIC. So afraid to tick. Can anyone help.
