April 2015 Naturalization application Timeline ONLY

Hi everyone

I submitted my application via NCS Westminster on 1 April 2015. However, they had a problem processing my payment and it only went out at the start of May 2015.

To date I have heard nothing and have not received any biometrics letter.

I know that the biometrics requirement came into place on 6 April 2015 (http://lifeintheuk.net/index.php/news/b ... pril_2015/) but I'm not sure if this means it would apply to me? Should I be worried about anything?

If your application was received by Home Office before 06-Apr-2015, the new requirement does not apply to you.

Finally received my approval letter today (dated 20/10), 4 days before the 6 month mark (app date 30/4)! To say I am relieved is an understatement...

For those still waiting it is worth mentioning that the approval letter came 1 week after the HO were contacted by my MP, and I dont think that is a coincidence.

FINALLY!!! Letter arrived in the post this morning 26 Oct, letter dated 21 Oct with all my documents.Will receive ceremony letter within 2wks, according to the letter. SO RELIEVED.
Never thought it would take this long. I applied on 27 April.

after 6 months waiting I sent a letter to HO Liverpool asked about my saute on 19/10/15, and also sent email my local NCS at the same time to check if they got my certificate. Got a reply from my local NCS said due to the new form and rules it is quite common to wait more than 6 months.
Then on yesterday 23th afternoon I received another email from the same lady from my local NCS said after a quick checking they found my certificate and told me HO's letter should arrive shortly. This morning that famous brown envelope landed on my doorway.The letter was dated 15/10/15 which is exactly 6 month after revived my application.

Congrats. Does certificate go to the local council or the council one applies via NCS?

after approval letter in how many days i need to book ceremony?
and in how many days i have to attend ceremony?

i heard with in 21 days need to book ceremony
and with in 90 days i need to attend ceremony, is this correct?

would someone please advise me as i am still waiting for my certificate its been a while i have applied on 22nd April 2015...do you guys think i have call HO about this or shall i stil wait?

i have applied via NCS and now i am on holiday away from home but my friend is looking for post every day?

is it problem being out of country will delay the process?

Finally received the approval letter . It was dated 20/10/2015. It was indeed a long wait and this forum helped alot in keeping the nerves calm. In my case just breached the 6 months time limit when I got the approval so I was thinking of making that call or not to Home Office to hear the rude voice on the other side but thankfully it din't come to that. I applied on 27 April, haven't had any update since then. Called Home Office yesterday but as usual the lady over the phone wasn't willing to provide any help and without taking my application reference she said wait for another 3 months. MP is not really helpful, Don't know what to do. Too worried.

Even I applied on 27-04-2015 on 10yrs + 1yr ILR basis and still waiting. Rang Ho, emailed HO and even wrote an email to my MP but still no response from any of them.Really worried and stressed now for this painstaking process

Why should that have any impact? I cam in 2006 as student. Then had ILR based on 5 year Tier1(G).

When was your payment taken??

I applied on 22nd April and payment was taken 20th may.

I was told the six months counts from date payment was taken, which will make my app total of 7 months.

They won't take any details from me when I rang HO

Our records show we received the application on 5 May.

We can only comment that your application is ongoing in the application process. As you may be aware, our service standard is that we will complete 100% of workable and straightforward cases within six months. The definition of a workable case, and what we expect from our customers, is available on our website at: http://www.gov.uk/government/organisati ... r-services. Where further information is required, the case will not be classed as workable, and may take longer to decide.

I sent this email a month ago. But interesting point is that on their website processing time starts from the day they received our applications. Some of the applicant here are given wrong information by HO that processing date starts from the date on the acknowledgment letter's date. Clearly they haven't got a clue what they are doing.

Exactly, purplewindow....I referred them to the acknowledgment letter which also states that six months starts from date application was received by HO and guy on phone didn't want to hear anything of that sort... He just kept on repeating saying 6 months after payment like an idiot!

Made me felt like I was speaking to a robot!!

I got an email from my MP with the following excuse even before contacting HO . She is asking me to provide a valid reason with evidence for processing my application quicker. Don't know what to do now?

thank you for contacting Ruth's office.

I am aware that most naturalisation applications will be dealt with within 6 months, however this is not always the case and there is no specific limit on how long this can take.

i am more than happy to contact the Home Office and get an update on your application.
If you feel that your application needs to be made more quickly, such as for a serious medical reason, then it would be a good idea to summarise why and provide evidence where possible. Otherwise, my understanding is that there is no way to make the Home Office process your application any quicker.

Just a quick update guys. I applied 29/04/2015
Got a letter from the HO requesting original copy of a document I didn't include. I received the letter on the 29/10/15. So I'm guessing they are working on ours. Let's just hope and wait.

I think we can't do anything more than waiting. I have also exhausted all possible ways of enquiring.
