Why are you posting responses to posts that are 18 months old?

Can I know why you are asking this question?

Because the OP has likely resolved their issue by now and digging up older threads clutters the board unnecessarily, particularly as the original poster has not logged into the forum since March 2014.

Ok, there is no rule against answering old questions. Another OP asked the same question recently and I answered both today.

I still think it's better answering old questions rather than leaving them unanswered.

No it is not, it digs up old threads of members who are no longer active and clutters the CURRENT forum queries. Just posting a link to information which might not have been relevant at that time is also not really helpful.

Answering a post from 2 months ago would still be acceptable but ones that are a year and more older is not UNLESS the original poster reposts.
