FLR for spouse

Post by mayaelci » Thu Oct 15, 2015 10:42 pm

Hi

My husband came to the UK on a spouse visa in sept 2012. Hi visa is due for renewal in May 2016, however I like to gather information in advance.

I have got couple of questions and I would appreciate your input:

1) We were not aware that my husband needs a biometric immigration document until today (I read it in the FLR application form). Can someone advise on whether he needs to apply for this ASAP or the application is made as part of his FLR?

2) How many months in advance can we apply for the FLR?

thanks in advance

1. It is part of the visa extension process.

2. On what date did he APPLY for the visa, what date is it VALID FROM and what date did he ENTER the UK? Was his initial visa issued for 33 months?

Hi Thanks for your reply. He applied for his visa June/July 2013 - valid from date is 6th of August 2013 - he entered the UK on the 13th of September 2013 and yes his visa was for 33 months.

He should apply for an extension closer to the expiry of his current visa to avoid a shortfall later on for ILR.

He will also have to pay the £500 immigration health surcharge before applying.

He shouldn't apply earlier than 28 days before reaching the 30 month mark from date of arrival. He can apply in person for a decision on the day. He does not have to apply by post.

Another quick question... does the immigration health surcharge allow the individual to use the NHS just like normal UK Citizens or is there a limit for the services they can use?
thanks
