Neo... I think you are right. They process applications based on date your visa is running out. I have found a number online to speak to UKVI if your visa application is due over 8 weeks. You can give it a go. The number is 0300 123 2241. Please keep me posted for any updates.

Cheers!
Amit.

Hi Ak,

I am renewing my Tier 2 because of changing to another job, different employer. If the UKVI uses the expire date of my current visa then it will be desperate because my current one is valid till 2016..

Have you contacted them using the telephone number and what kind of reply do you get?

This is a completely separate scenario and it's not like the Tier2 Extension like us.

I believe they will use the new Start Date in your Sponsorship letter and it doesn't matter your current Expiry date is in 2016 or not.

In total it should be 6 years. It depends on your employer whether they are requesting for 3+2+1, 2+3+1, 3+3, 4+2 or 5+1. You should remember that you could only apply for a maximum of 5 years at one time. Hope it makes sense.

Type of application: Tier 2 Extension :)

3. Date of expiry of current leave: 28/10/2015
4. Number of dependents applying at same time: 0
5. Rating of sponsor: A
6. Application method: Online & via 10 days priority service
7. Submitted Application: 14/10/2015
8. Date application posted: 15/10/2015
9. Date application (documents) received at HO: 15/10/2015 (as its on-line application now) and the documents requested I posted by next day delivery to receive by 13:00pm guaranteed so 16.10.2015
10. Date payment debited: 15/10/2015
11. Payment mode: Debit Card
12. Acknowledgement Letter Issue date : 20/10/2015
13. Acknowledgement letter received: 15/10/2015
14. BM letter issue date: 15/10/2015
15. Biometric letter received: 16/10/2015
16. Date of biometric enrolment: I received an email on 15/10/2015 stating biometric enrolment letter is in post, letter received on 16.10.2015 enrolled same day.
17. Date of approval: 20/10/2015 on BRP CARD
18. Date of return of passport and other documents: 22/10/2015 (received); approval letter dated 20/10/2015 and sent with passport. Email received on 20.10.2015 stating decision has been made and documents in post sent by recorded delivery on 20/10/2015
19. Date (new) leave to remain valid until: 17/11/2017
20. Date BRP received: 22/10/2015
May I ask why you got only 2 years for your extension? I saw another person who got only 2 years for their extension too. I thought we will be given another 3 years extension for our visa.

There are some people who got 3 years as an extension in previous pages. So, I am wondering is there a reason behind that?
Thanks for that and I thought so too. I got 3 years already and applied another 3 years extension (my employer put 3 years till 2018 in SoC letter). But in some posts, I saw only 2 years 1 month extension and 3 years in others.

So, I would like to know whether there is a UKBA rule or because of the dates in SoC letter. Hopefully, I will get a visa back with ~ 3 years.

Getting very stressed about this. The application turn around time seems to have gone up from approx 4 weeks in June to approx 7 weeks in October. I am due to go get married in 2 weeks time and there is no sign of my passport or visa.

According to the above posts for T2 Extension, they got their result back today and they applied a little bit earlier than you. So, I believe, you will receive your result back this week or the following week. Keep calm and wait for the result.

By the way, Congratulation for your wedding. :)

Thank you ttcg. Yes I am hoping it will be here this week. If I were to recall my passport, I think I lose the application, but as I understand they require 10 days to return them to you, so this week is quite crucial.

I gave my biometrics on 03/10/2015 and recieved my passport on 31/10/2015 (Still waiting fo BRP),

I will suggest to hold on and hopefully by end of this week you will get the passport (hopefully BRP together).

TIP: If you have provided a Special delivery envelope (For return of your documents) then you can visit the https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item and track by the tracking number (Of the returning special delivery). By doing this at-least a day before you can see that your passport is coming the next day.

Thanks abhishek.gite446. I didn't provide a tracked return envelope unfortunately. But I'm hoping that things will be returned this week. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks Neo. I didn't receive it. My colleague did at work reception. It came through normal post.
I haven't received my passport, supporting documents and approval letter yet. Hopefully soon.
I hope you receive yours soon too. If your application is more the 8 weeks due. You can speak to them at 0300 123 2241. They can update you. Cheers! AK.

Hi everyone.

Does anybody know how long does the Unrestricted CoS allocation take at present?
My employer has requested an additional UCoS on the 2nd of October. It has been 5 weeks now.
Bear in mind it is not 'assigning' the CoS but the additional employer's allocation.
I was just wondering what can I do in this situation and how can the process be sped up as my current leave expires in a week's time.

Many thanks!

D

@D
Your employer can call tier 2 team and explain your visa is current visa expiring soon
Also he can email them your visa copy and request urgent response on allocation.
That's what my employer did 3 years ago.
Also u should post this to different post.
