Hi. I am in the same boat as well however i do not recommend that you should travel without having passport. You can travel on Pakistani passport and can apply in BHC in pakistan however as i confirmed from passport office it will take at least 6 months for 1st passport if it applied overseas. they said it will be somewhere between 6 months - 12 months to get a 1st child passport if you apply in Pakistan where as applying here in UK is extremely easy and fast...you can get urgent in 7 days..

hope this will help.
Thanks a lot for your input. Would you mind to give me details how did you contact passport office? via phone or email
Can i have those details please. Thanks

Hi. it is true and frustrating as well. My father is very ill as well, I am very much worried about him and wish to travel by the end of this month which does not look happening at all...

My friend advise me to get passports for my home country asap and travel with kids however they cannot return to UK as they will not have any visa on their passports. As i am planning to go for few months Later when i will receive their registration certificates then apply for their British passport via post because kids do not have to attend any appointment or ceremony and once i will get kids passport i'll take them with me to bring them back to UK..

Could i as an experts advice?

If you are sending application via post then kids don't have to attend the appointment but if you apply for British Passport from abroad it will take 6 - 12 months to get first passport. So better get your national passport and you can travel to your country on it but your kids can't come back until they have British Passports or visa.
I also involved my local MP, she wrote a letter on my behalf to home office. MP took weeks to wrote one letter and I am sure home office will take more time to reply, by the time I got response it will be too late.
Very frustrated! The problem with Home office is they don't listen to anyone - never felt so helpless!

Hi all,

It seems to me that there was a slow down of approvals over the past 10 days .. Am I the only one who thinks so? Btw, did anyone get the latest stats from the office for June/July/August?

Thanks

Dear All,

Due to couple of doggy application earlier this year, home office is doing extra check to ensure the application is genuine.
this is specifically for those child who had travel history. Application will be faster for those who don't have any travel history and born here.
Because home office doesn't have any tracking system if you bring someone's child from out side and apply for MN1 using your child's birth certificate. (Birth certificate doesn't have photograph) the past incident was based on this kind of story.

I hope my information makes sense.
I am also in the same boat, waiting since August.

Quick one I applied on 17 June for two of my daughters and still waiting for the certificates or haven't heard anything from HO. How did you contact the MP and what is the procedure to escalate through MP?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I would like to ask for your assistance. I am currently waiting for my son (4 years old) British Naturalisation (MN1 Section 1(3)) to be processed.

My wife and I are currently living in the UK with an ILR. My son has no ILR and his tier 1 dependant visa expired in July 2015. We applied directly for the British Naturalisation.

We need travel in December 2015 and visit an ill family member. We are afraid we might not hear back from the Home Office by that time. I have been told that my son will not be allowed to comeback to the UK on our return form the trip.

After a number of calls, emails, etc to the UKBA, Home Office and Heathrow Border Agency, I was told that he needed entry clearance to come back to the UK. The problem is that no one seems to be able to answer what sort of entry clearance. Visitor? Family Visitor? I just do not know.

I have thought of applying for his ILR as last resource and pay £ 1500, which obviously is very costly. However, I wonder if I am on time to do so. My son's Tier 1 Dependant Visa expired in July 2015. Will he be penalised for it? Can we still opt in or his ILR?

I know there are number of questions in my last few lines. If some one can provide some light with his experience or knowledge, I would really appreciate it. The officers I have spoken to in the HO have not been able to provide an answer. I think they are junior officers, that do not really understand the case. I am trying to contact my local MP, but have had not much luck.

Eligibility criteria: section 1(3)
Method of application: Postal
Date of receipt by UKBA: 17/08/2015
Date of debit of fees: 27/08/2015
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 27/08/2015
Date Biometric letter received: 03/09/2015
Date Biometric given: 05/09/2015
Date of receipt of approval: Waiting
Date of receipt of documents: Waiting
Date of receipt of registration certificate: Waiting

Hi JDB,
I noticed that your dates are quite similar to mine. Application+ biometrics all in done in July 2015 for my child's MN1. Pls keep us all upated, Still waiting too. I think the home office should have a system where people can check/track the progess of thier application , maybe online or something. So that the whole process can be made much more easier and clearer. Hope it all gets sorted soon.

Hello @usbukhari, congratulations. That was a very quick application considering the time line in recent months. Please can you let me know who u contact led or what you did to speed up your process. I desperately need to take my baby to family gathering this Christmas. Everyone member of my family both extended attends this and it happens once in 5 years. I fear I may not be able to go if my baby's application doesn't get processed quick enough so I can apply for a passport.

Please who did you contact. Do you state propose of asking for expedited processing of application.

My baby is born in uk and just few months old. So should be very straight forward.
