HI!
Sent an email to HO yesterday inquiring about my application status and awaiting reply.Also called them today, the guy was really nice and listened patiently while I vented my frustration out.But all he divulged was they are experiencing "unknown delays" and some applications are taking 7-8 months to process.Also, the app status is only known to case worker and hence he doesn't hold any information.
Looks like my best bet is to wait few more days before contacting MP!

After numerous futile calls to Home Office, I decided to involve my MP. Wrote to him on Thursday (05 November) to inquire on my behalf. Yesterday, he emailed me back saying that his office had received a call from Home Office. The caller said that "a letter was sent to you today (10 November) with an update on the progress of your application". Made a further inquiry as to whether a decision has been made, but the MP office said that they are unable to say, because all they were told is that a letter with an "update" has been sent.

I am dreading more waiting in horizon. Although there is also a chance that I could've been approved. So stressed!!!

Been a silent member past few months checking the updates on May applicants. Here's a little story i have for you all. I sent my application off in May, before then i got in trouble with a driving offence (Had to drive my friends car because she was unable to, and i was the sober one). I sent it anyway... come June i received a letter from court to pay my fine. I thought "oh no.. this is going to ruin everything"... i did tons of research thinking this would affect me. It got to a point i lost hope and just thought, just send that letter approval or not.. let me know this is done. I truly didn't think i'll get approved. So i'm really grateful for this because i would've been the only one in my family who didn't get approved if i got rejected and that would've been very embarrassing. DONT GIVE UP HOPE GUYS!!!!

I have finally received my approval letter today. Few things I need to mention here, first if you have applied in may, do contact your MP and get them involved. Secondly you can contact UKBA for an update but i will highly recommend do not abuse this email address by sending them emails which are not yet close to 6 months period. UKBA do reply within 24hrs of sending the email to this email address NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.ukmy friends and i have contaced UKBA via this email and they replied back with in 24hrs with the application status.

Finally got my approval today, I would like to share it with anyone who may be in my same case. I was an overstayer and got married to an EEA citizen and been together for 7 years, last december for problems with my insurance I had a penalty charge on my licence and had a couple of defaults on my credit file as my ex took a contract and i wasn't aware about it, i am challenging it still. With all of these, i still applied, and today , thanks to god, I have received my approval letter.
