Hopefully code 1A stamp won't effect your application as I heard many people using this route rather than going for FP, by the way did you enter the UK with EUFAM Article 10 Residence card?
Nope, I entered just on the Code 1A stamp. The guy at border control wasn't pleased but his boss overrode him. Lmfao I panicked and cried as well! Anyway, I have been delaying getting the residence card but my job won't let me work without it, so I kind of had to. It's so hard explaining my right to be here otherwise...
so you have entered in to the UK without the FP and residence card? did the border control officer admitted you according to the EEA Regulation 9? where did you come from and what documents you brought with you?
Yes, I did not have the EEA Family Permit. I can't remember through what rules he let me in but I got the Code 1a stamp. I am an American and my husband is Portuguese. We got married in Denmark and we flew from there together. We had our marriage certificate and his proof of work I believe as well as evidence of our relationship - the same documents that you need for the Family Permit.

Received a missed delivery card yesterday.
Was surprised to collect a rather large package (containing everything we had sent the Home Office)
With the 4.5 kg package there was a single sheet of paper stating that my residence card should arrive within 10 working days!

Thank you and best of luck to everyone!

Application sent EEA EFM Unmarried Partner 16.06 ( 1 year cohabitation)
Received in HO (Royal Mail Tracked): 18.06
Payment deduction Credit Card: 19.06
Biometric Enrollment Rec'd: 25.06 (dated 22.06)
Confirmation of Application without right to work:27.06 (dated 22.06)
All Documentation Returned (with RC to follow): 10.11 (dated 9.11)

Ive been refused twice which i applied as unmarried partner both times for stupid reasons.. i appealed but they took my right to work away.. and finally me and my wife decided to get married and then re apply.. so I did that.. Even then they said they will take interview before the marriage to could happen and all etc which they didnt take and let us get married so i re applied after again.. the First application I put was in june 2014.. so still waiting
what was worse is that i couldnt even get my passport back to travel home or my wife's country because they said that the home office refused my visa so my passport was with immigration enforcement team who refused to even return my passport to me.. so yeah.. I coudnt attend either my brother or my sister in law's wedding thanks to all this.
and now desperately waiting ... i wonder when it would be over.

You don't need COA to apply NIN. I applied NIN before I submitted my application for RC. All you need to do ring up
National Insurance number application line
Telephone: 0345 600 0643
Textphone: 0345 600 0644
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm

And tell them you're holding EEA family permit, your details. They will post you an application form. You can go from there. I received my NIN two weeks after I returned my application form. Good luck!!

My story:

I submitted application on 22nd sep 15 as married spouse, received COA with working right around late Oct..

I requested passports and Tier 2 visa card to return to me, because I need to travel. but home office called twice in the same day, long story short, they could not find my tier 2 visa card.... so instead, they told me they have gave my application to a case worker, and it has been approved.. and the decision has been forward to the department to produce the card..
So I can use the new resident card for travelling..

So my questions, if home office has called to confirm the application has been approved, how long does it take to receive the resident card after the call, I am travelling next Friday (20th Nov), so I am a bit nervous - this is will decide whether I need apply for a family permit to come back? and home office's call was last wed 4th Nov, so far I have not received anything..

Any similar experience ?

Great to hear that they let you in :) so you said you have been delaying to get the residence card, and finally you had it or not? also what else did the border control officer ask you?
