Finally waiting is over, I received my approval on friday 13th Novemeber by royal special delivery post. the approval letter was dated as 11th November. I applied on 1st of may. So it took Six month 12 days to get approved.

I emailed my local MP on 5th November, she was very helpful. she assured me she will be in contact with HO immediately and she will get back to me within 2 weeks. I guess she contacted them and then HO case worker decided to take a look at my file.

This forum as been a great support throughout my immigration journey in the UK, I am glad to be a member of this amazing community. Thank you WorkPermit.com for hosting this amazing site; and special thank you to moderators and all the senior members for keeping this site resourceful.

Got all my documents back today together with the approval letter. The letter says that I should wait (two weeks) for the local council to send me an invitation to attend the ceremony. Happy days!! My case took 5 months. I was a straight forward case, fulfilling all the requirements but still took 5 months. Hang on in there guys, it will come!

Hi Guys,

I have finally received my approval letter today. Few things I need to mention here, first if you have applied in may, do contact your MP and get them involved. Secondly you can contact UKBA for an update but i will highly recommend do not abuse this email address by sending them emails which are not yet close to 6 months period. UKBA do reply within 24hrs of sending the email to this email address NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.ukmy friends and i have contaced UKBA via this email and they replied back with in 24hrs with the application status.

Can I ask where you got that email address from? A quick google search shows it hasn't been posted anywhere but by you. I emailed them on Monday but as yet (48 hours later) still no reply. Thank you for the tip though!

Hi I sent email to different email address they sent me reply in 7days that we can not process your application in 6 month we will process in next 3 to 6 months if not we will require more time with your application.

It could be a general/standard reply plus as you said you applied in 3rd week of June, so its simple you are inquiring about status well before the 6 month announced processing time so no doubt bound to receive a standard reply.

Hi friends, I received my approval today after 7 months of waiting. I'm not sure what helped and what didn't, but here is what I did: emailed my MP asking them to urge HO to expedite the process and told him it was very urgent that I get the approval as soon as possible (this is true in my case. be honest), emailed HO 2-3 times asking for urgent processing, also emailed this address Kashif (mkashifakram) posted claiming I could get a reply within 24 hours: NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. However I have no idea if my emails (other than to my MP) helped because I never received a reply from HO. But it is worth trying. Approval letter came through today so just waiting for invitation to ceremony.

Indeed, contacting MP helps once HO is outside of 6 months waiting time. I know for a fact that HO finalised my case case following a call from MP on Monday.

My guess is that HO got snowed under during the summer due to increased passport applications and you can imagine they couldn't get in temps to do this type of work so they just piled our applications. However, I believe the caseworkers are also cherry-picking applications depending on how easy they look and this may be why many later applications were processed before ours. I know these things happen because I used to manage risk on a case-handling project and I know one of my responsibilities was to ensure case-handlers were not cherry-picking cases as this could result in FCA fines. But nobody fines HO.

Good luck to all those still waiting and if you are now over 6 months get help from your MP.

Forget everything and send a letter to Liverpool office if your passport is being processed there. I got my approval letter within a week after sending a letter to them, I might be wrong but just sharing my experience. Calling and sending emails to HO doesn't help.

I specifically asked in the letter what actions were taken to process my AN application to date.

Contacted H/O on 13/11 through e-mail at the address mentioned in mkashifakram 's post ( NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk ). Received reply within few hours same day telling that applications had been decided and decision letter despatched. Received letters in post this afternoon. to update i did get my approval letter on 21st Nov (Sat) dated 13th Nov.
Applied on 21st May 2015 via NCS stockport so exactly 6 months.
simple case of Tier 1 Genral 5 year with 1 yr ILR.

if it helps any one. my case has a twist that i lost my Life in UK test certificate and just added a letter with application as well as email confirmation of the test center that I received when i registered to take the test.
