Hi All,

I have applied on 3rd of June -2015 and I received my refusal letter today. The refusal was based on wrong decision. I came in UK for the first time in May-2009 on TIER 1 General Visa. In decision, The said I arrived illegally in 2007 and I was removed on 30th April 2009, which is completely wrong. My first visa was granted from my back home and the date of the first visa granted was 31.03.2009. I think they made mistake and I am ending up with refusal.

Any thoughts should I go for reconsideration via solicitor or should I do my self?

Hi Baliwa - I am sorry to hear about your case. If it is, as you say, a case of mistaken identity, I don't think you should spend money on a solicitor. You should appeal straight away and perhaps also contact your MP to get involved. I hope you find a speedy resolution soon.

Note: My application was with 1 police caution over 3 years and I have mentioned on my application and it did not effect my application. I would suggest to disclose any issues with your history, worst case would be your application is time barred not rejected on basis of deceiving. I know wait is painful but try not to think much about your application once submitted.

Sent wife today to Registrar office to request them for ceremony as it was so close. She told them that there would be no guests attending, hence thankfully they register her for Wednesday ceremony, otherwise it would have been 18th January 2015.

I hope People who applied on 15th and 16th should be getting there reply by end of this week or soon,as Second week of June went really slow,no matter how straightforward their cases are.It went really quick immediate after application submitted as got acknowledgement and biometric letter received few days later after submission,which gave me hope of quick approval.But later found there is no order to process applications ,it depends upon case workers i believe.HO obviously work in different sub departments like every company or other public department does,so seems slow coordination between those.

One more thing,i have not received my letter in brown envelope.It was in signed for mail along with other original documents.I sent application in secure post and requested back documents in same.This is another reason for quick receive otherwise it would be coming in normal delivery and can be delayed few days more.

Congrats mate... my husband applied under 3 year rule on 11th, but they didn't even touch it until the following Monday....15th. June and we are still waiting! hopefully not much longer xx

Over the course of Septrmber I sent them 3 emails

First week November ( on separate days) I got 3 replies. two was standard six month wait reply and last one said ' your application was received on 15th June' and then continued with same bs reply as others. took them over a month to reply.

Finally!! Received approval letter today, dated 16th November.
Timeline : Applied 11th June, fee deducted and biometrics done by 24th June.

Called for appointment but they didn't have the certificate yet so took name and number and said we will be contacted when they arrive! is this right?

You will get it tomorrow or Monday!
They use second class post so it takes time.

By the way just a quick one, I am going abroad in the end of December for 2 months, don't think I manage to apply British passport in time (it says 6 weeks according to HO website) Is it okay to enter UK with my Chinese passport when I come back from abroad? Any help would be appreciated! Cheers X

Although I wondered why councils work differently ....some ceremonies are pre arranged and others you have to call and book. Our ceremony 17th December .... so 4 weeks away!!
