HSMP Rejected because of Past Earning Claim

Post by aspirantHSMP » Wed Nov 21, 2007 7:33 pm

Hi All,

My HSMP application rejected because of Previous earnings section.

I have got claimed period Sept 2006 to Aug 2007 and in order to corroborate my earning provided followings

1) 12 month pay slips fron Sept 2006 to Aug 2007
2) P60 form for period Apr 2006 to Apr 2007 (For period Sept 2006 to Apr 2007)
3) Letter from employer for my salary details from Apr 2007 to Aug 2007, Also bank statement for period Apr 2007 to Aug 2007.

As I thought for period Sept 2006 to Apr 2007 P60 form is sufficient document to corroborate my earnings for Sept 2006 to Apr 2007 so did not provide Bank statement for Sept 2006 to Apr 2007

I have got rejection letter with reason

- You stated an income of £38, 597.22
- The two piece of evidence you have supplied do not corroborate each other because payslips for Sept 2006 - Aug 2007 show £38,597.22. The P60 for Apr 2006 - Apr 2007 shows £38,225.06
- We note that bank statement and employer letter did corroborate the period of Apr 2007 to Aug 2007, however this amount was below minimum threshold

Can anybody suggest me any ideas(reason) in order to HSMP team to reconsider my application. As I still feel that P60(of Apr 2006 to Apr 2007) was sufficient to corroborate my salaries for Sept 2006 to Apr 2006.

Thanks in advance,

Does P60 contain month wise break up of the gross salary? No.
Then how will they use it as corroborate your salary slips?
I had also applied for Sept-06 to Aug-07. I supplied my Form-16 ( p60 equivalent in INdia ) that covers till April-07, but as that does not have month wise break up I provided bank stmts for all the 12 months.

Dont know why you did not do that. Bank stmts are the easiest piece of document to obtain, still you did not bother to obtain for all the 12 months. Pity.

I would see your application rejection as a good punishment for being reckless/careless and making loads of assumptions in your own favour.

If someone apples for period Apr 06 - Apr 07 with P60 form and only 12 months payslips. Then how do they corroborate salaries ? Bank statements only need to be provided as "exceptional evidence" when your period is not covered by any tax documents. Thats what I did - provided bank statements for the period which is not covered in P60 form

See Buddy, In the case that you cited, the total gross on P60 should corroborate with the total on the 12 salary slips.

There was no harm in submittng the bank stmts and also you need to understand thier requirements of documents from their perspective. It can be really very difficult to write down such complex requirements with out leaving any ambiguity which is the case with HSMP guidance.

They need two PERFECTLY corroborating evidence. Thats it.
