Work related absence for last year

Post by sam2428 » Mon Nov 16, 2015 5:30 pm

Hi Expert,

I have been away for more than 90 days in my last year after getting my ILR as I was posted in Germany by my employer. Can I apply for naturalization by giving my employer letter and stating that I was getting paid in UK.

Personally I would wait till I am under 90 days limit. Because as far as I know only Armed forces absences are exempt from the 90 day rule. You could ask for discretion but then its a risk I personally would not take. Good luck.
Being British is a state of mind.

91 days? 300 days? Both are over 90 days, but would almost definitely be looked at quite differently.
