Tier 1 General to ILR - PEO application deferred

Post by OSHIOS » Mon Sep 14, 2015 5:22 pm

Hi All,

I work as an IT contractor via a LTD company and I have just been to the Premium service center in Solihull (on a Saturday) and after about 2 hours I was asked to come back in two week's time for an interview as they are a few enquiries they need to make.

Does any one know what I should expect on the day?

Thanks in advance

Did your past earnings and tax reported to HO and HMRC are same or not.

Can you say a bit more about your case?
You said you are self-employed and director of Ltd. Company.
Can you please say more about your case:

Did the case worker say you to bring any additional documents?

How long have you been trading as a Director of the Ltd. company?

Was the Tax in order : 1. Was the tax paid for the last years?
2. Was the tax claimed to HO was paid?

Please share the information .
Thank you

Hi rpsarangi,

For my last application (Extension), I was contracting via an umbrella company that was tax year 11/12 and 12/13. After I made my extension application in October 2012, I set up a limited company i.e. Oct 2012 to date - I've been trading for 3 years now and I have paid my corporation tax for the last 2 financial years. I have also done my self assessment for 14/15 tax year.

They didn't ask me to bring any supporting document for the interview. The only thing was that on the day, after an hour of submitting my documents with them they rang me and asked me to get Barclays to stamp my personal bank statement in a local Barclays bank in Solihull; which I did, then an hour later the case worker called me and told me to come back in 2 weeks time.

It's also pertinent to note that I attended my appointment on a Saturday.

thanks

Thanks for sharing your case .
I think that might be one of the cause that , it was a Saturday as you say and that they just wanted a bit more time to process the application. Hopefully all goes well.
I think the major thing about the self-employment is the TAX they are looking at , as you said that your tax is all in place.. I think it should be ok, I would suggest that you have all your tax documents with you as additional documents when you attend the interview even if they haven't asked for it.

When is your interview date?
And please share your experience once you attend your interview .

Good luck.

Hi rpsarangi,

What was the outcome of your interview. Could you please clarify as you mentioned that you paid corporation tax for 2013/ & 2014 but only done self assessment for 14/15 tax year? Did HO raised any query on this if yes please share.
IS anyone experience similar situation ?

Thx,

Hi All,

Interview lasted about 15-20 minutes, I was asked about my company e.g.
When was it registered
Have I paid my taxes
Do I have the right qualification to do the kind of job I'm into
Have I registered the company with the appropriate bodies i.e. HMRC, company house etc
Explain how you get paid
Who's the company accountant and how much did I pay for their services

After about an Hour I was given a letter that my ILR has been granted, I got the cards in the post about 4 days later.
