I have applied for British passport at the same time as my citizenship application. This is found on kent.gov.uk:

Passport application service
We are one of five pathfinder authorities offering customers a new service that allows you to apply for a passport at the same time as your citizenship application. Currently, once your citizenship application has been processed and you have attended a ceremony, you would then have to make a separate application for your passport which can take another 6 weeks. If you choose our new service you won't have to make a separate application and your passport will be sent to you after your citizenship ceremony.

The letter from Home Office says 'please be aware that you need to apply directly through the Passport Office for a British Passport WTF?! I applied for both at the same time. I'm gonna need to call the Passport Office tomorrow.
