Really? I didn't know that- how do you know you get stamp 1? Well it doesn't really matter because you can change employment and its for 2 years , like I've said after which you can apply for a 5 year stamp- approx 3 years as apposed to 6 years any other way is most definately beneficial, but seeing that the work authorisation/visa has been stopped it is no longer important, except to those who previously held same and wish to continue making use of the scheme.elbet wrote:Thanks joesoap101
Green Card would be better options for new commers to the country . Bear in mind that you only get stamp 1 with the new green card system .
regards
Irish immigration is a sad joke really- stamp 1 is given to people who are granted "green cards"- stamp 4 would've made much more sense. I'm becoming increasingly skeptical as to whether the DOJ will actually grant the 5 year long term residency stamp after 2 years.elbet wrote:Green card > Stamp 1 , check this link

It is true you have the right to change employer under greend card scheme , but you or your new employer has to apply for a new green card !! means another 1000 or 1500 Euros + waiting time ( GOD knows how long ) .
joejoesoap101 wrote:Actually the 'green card' is more beneficial in that after 2 years it is renewed indefinately and you can also apply for a 5 year permission to remain stamp after the 2 years.

If you currently hold a work visa you can continue to renew it.
