Biometric Enrolment Letter awaited - Need to travel

Post by SumitP » Tue Dec 01, 2015 3:28 pm

Hi - I have applied for naturalization through NCS on 16/11 and HO received my application on 18/11. I need to travel abroard for a month on 10/12.

it appears that processing of AN applications is runing late and the fee amount deduction from account and delivery of letter to enrol biometrics is being delivered with at least 18 to 20 day gap after submission of application.

Is it true that the application gets rejected if biometric are not enrolled within 15 days of generation of the letter?

It was mentioned in one of the discussion topics that HO send one warning letter and additional 10 days are allowed if biometric are not enrolled within original 15 day window?

It is difficult for me to postpone my travel plans and I don't want to have a rejected application, can someone please confirm if the warning and additional period is given for enrolment after initial 15 days are over?

You need to "book" an appointment in 15 days (for any date that may be available and is convenient for you) not (necessarily) "attend" an appointment in those 15 days.

You will probably have to get someone to keep an eye on the post, that would be the best option till you return back.

WRONG ADVICE

you don't need to book an appointment for biometric enrollment. As it is an walk in service to the post office.

You get 15 days to do biometrics. if you don't attend the biometrics in 15 days then you can a second warning letter giving you 10days

Thanks. I just spoke with Home Office and they said I will need to contact homeoffice to issue a new biometroc letter if I am not able to do the enrolment within 15 days of receiving first letter.

I will just have to have someone keep an eye on the post and contact home office requesting them to send a new letter.
