Well, the lack of clear communication and transparency is far from being ideal, don't you think? I don't know...for me this is not acceptable.

They have absolutely no excuses for such a large fee taken/individual vs. such a poor service.

It definitely gives me the impression of an "equal" treatment

another week almost gone, no good news, called customer service they said call in two weeks if you dont get anything we only closed on christmas day and new year day. Also he said now a days we are taking up to six months its normal or sometimes 7 month.

I am also Polish, applied 23rd July and still waiting.
Looks like they really take full 6 months to process straightforward EEA applications so that gives me hope that 7 more weeks and I will get the famous brown envelope

May I ask if you had contacted Home Office after submitting your biometrics or were you just waiting patiently? Have you sent any emails, made phone calls or contacted your MP?

It means that you need to wait another 3-6 months. Not much you can do.

Jeff I had contacted HO on few occasions regarding change of my surname after I got married. As a consequence of that my marriage certificate got lost. Personally I wouldn't bother to contact their call centre as they are useless. Every time information given is different. I was going to email my MP on Monday, my approval arrived today.

One more question. Have you submitted Document Certifying Permanent Residence with your applications? Just wondering if it makes any difference for all applications submitted before it became a requirement in November.

I did not have one either as it was not required back in July, however they have changed requirements for EU citizens and it is required for all applications submitted after 12th November. So if someone does not have one and wants to apply for British citizenship needs to apply for PR first, wait ONE YEAR after it is issued and only then can apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen. Looks like they are tightening the requirements before in/out referendum.

Jeff I did attach my PR card as I had one for over 9 years. I wasn't aware that you need I one to apply now.

I applied for my naturalization in June 2015. Today I got a letter stating that my application was rejected because I have not been exercising my treaty rights for a continuous period of five years. I have lived in the UK since 2006 and have been employed since 2008. At the time of applying the permanent residence card was not required. Any advise?

Was you application rejected? My application was rejected because I didnt have the residence card. I applied for my naturalisation in June 2015 and back then the card was not required.

Hi Ilona,

I still am awaiting decision from Home Office. I have submitted my biometrics back in August and have not heard from them since. I expect they will get back to me by the end of January.

With regards to PR card, this requirement came into force from 12th November so all applications submitted before that date do not need to be supported by PR card. Monia got her approval today and did not have a card so it definitely could not be a reason to reject your application.

If you say you were in continuous employment since 2008 and can prove this (for a minimum 6 years) this is proof of exercising treaty rights. Have you attached your P60 forms since 2008 to 2015? Have you had any gaps in employment? And if you are from A8 countries (Poland?) have you registered on WRS and also sent your WRS certificate and letter with employer details?

Otherwise I would recommend to get advise from qualified immigration solicitor.
