Applying for HSMP extension with Australian Fiance Visa

Hi,

My HSMP extension is due in March, and i m in Dilemma right now. My Fiance is Australian he wants to come here on dependent but he also want me to apply for Australian Fiance Visa.
My concern is, if i apply for Fiance Visa for Australia in coming Dec, will that effect my HSMP extension.
2.We are planning to get married in DEC 2008, and live here in UK permanently. For how long can I stay outside UK as an HSMP holder.

I will appreciate your help/advice.
