TIER 2 General sponsored switch to part time

Post by dima_a_v » Wed Dec 09, 2015 9:00 pm

Hi Guys,

Could you please advise on the following.
I have been working with my company for about a year, SOC stated salary 45k and currently i am at 55 at 40 hours a week at 2135 IT business analysts, architects and systems designers.
Question: Can i move to a part time schedule, eg working 2 days a week?

Thanks for a response.

Any reason why? Is the a lower limit on number of hours? Or on the salary figure (i figured it should be just more than 21k)?
I read everything there is, all the guides, but could not find clause about number of hours decrease.

Thanks a lot!

Dima

Becuase one cannot sponsor an immigrant for a "part-time" job!
There is no mention of "reduced working hours" because there is no concept of sponsorship for "reduced working hours".

Thank you so much for coming back with answers, i really appreciate this.

What is then minimum number of hours one can work a week to be "full time" ? I have seen them mentioning in examples "working patter of 4 days a week" when they make an example about 28 unpaid days per day limit.. So 4 days is allowed... But it is not a part time.

Thanks again for responding
Dima

"You are absent from work without pay for four weeks or more in total, according to your
normal working pattern, during any calendar year (1 January to 31 December). For
example, if your normal working pattern is 4 days a week, this would apply if you were
absent from work without pay for 16 or more days. "

"Being absent" from work (with or without pay) ... leave of absence ... is not the same as "working part-time".

You are contracted for 40 hours a week and your sponsorship (and permission from HO to live and work in the UK) is based on that contract. The only way for you work "2 days in a week" (or similar) is to make a new leave to remain application with a new CoS assigned to you based on the "2 days a week working hours and salary" - if you can find a sponsor to sponsor you for "2 days a week" work pattern and HO approves it, that is!
