Change Stamp 3 to Stamp 4

Post by dhruv87 » Sat Dec 12, 2015 3:27 pm

I will be Irish national on 14th Dec. Just have a quick question
My wife is Stamp 3 at the minute as dependant. Does she get stamp 4 straight away in Gnib office with proof of my Irish Naturalisation certificate.

Or Do I have to wait and get my Irish passport and then we will go to Gnib for stamp 4.

Please help me out. Thanks ☺

You husband is IRISH from the day the certificate is granted to him. The passport is simply an administrative formality. You can pop to Garda with the certificate . In law he should not demand a passport, but if he does, you can wait until his passport application is processed.
