Post by farrukh90 » Sun Dec 13, 2015 8:27 pm

Currently i am on a tier 4 visa that is expiring end of this month.I have successfully completed my bachelors degree from a uk university.I am looking to apply for tier 2 visa but i have not got a COS from my employer.
Can the gurus help me tell what is the time period for issuing COS from employer?
Do my employer need to carry rlmt test as i am already in uk?any instant response will be appreciated.thanks.

Issuing CoS takes just a few minutes.

If you have UK Bachelors degree, then you are exempted from RLMT, however, employers do not always understand the concept and think that they need to carry out RLMT as per visa regulations. So show them the UKVI policy guidance and get the CoS assigned before your visa expires..so you can apply for your visa in time.

If your employer have available CoS left, they are able to assign one to you in a couple of minutes. Otherwise, you need to wait for your employer to apply more CoS. So contact your employer to make clear the current situation, because your time is very restricted before the expiration of your current T4 visa.

If you cannot obtain your CoS in time before you have to leave from UK, you will need RLMT and a restricted CoS for a T2 visa.

You don't need to provide maintenance documents such as bank statement, if your employer is a A-rated sponsor who certifies maintenance for your in the Cos.

if they dont have any cos left, they will need to request it, and the it can take between 2 days to 3 weeks for ukvi to grant the request.

Have you spoken to you Tier 2 sponsor? We cannot guess what your sponsor is doing or why there is a delay.
