Wedding Brazil - Questions

Hi, a couple of questions if thats OK...

I should be getting married in brazil soon, does anyone know the required length of stay that I need to be there before the cermony can take place?

And, I have a power of attorney in her mothers name, is it possible to them to sign the intent to marraige without me being there to speed up the process?
