P-60 for HSMP

Post by kapoor@yahoo.com » Mon Nov 26, 2007 7:35 pm

Hi,

My employer has given me P-60 as attested copy on A-4 paper. I am wondering if this is acceptable. I called HSMP guy, who insisted on original P60 or an letter from employer stating that P60 is issued in above format only. Problem is my employer is not issuing me such letter, you can guess why?

Please advise if there is any alternative to p60 which I can get from say HMRC and attach with my HSMP application along with p60 attested copy.

I'll submit other docs like Salary slips and Bank Statements.

Thanks in advance!

By Law your employer is obliged to issue a p60 by the end of may each year. If he did not, he/she is under serious violation of law. Try to request your employer one more time and remind what law saying in this case.

if your employer still not cooperating, you can take this matter to Dept of work and pensions for denying your right to get p60 or call HMRC helpline at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/menus/contactus.shtml they will sort out the issue with your ... /Suresh

there is nothing wrong with a p60 and a4 paper if that is how it is issued
Did you not get an original at the end of the year?

P60 in whatever format+original payslip+bank statement should do.

It is not as complicated as you thought, mine is fine.

P60 is always the same format everywhere and in A4.
People might questin the authecity if it is another format than the standard one.

Its not necessary that P60 is always in A4 format. I work for a multi million British Company with over 8000 employees and I always got P60 folded with a paper half of the size of A4.

Hi,
I read about this P60 alot, your employer should follow HM Revenue and customs standard format (if he want to change the format he should contact them), I compared my P60 with one of my friend who work for different company with different job, but I found our p60 are idenitical.
To solve your problem, I found it easy to order a copy (from some web sites, they can print you a P60 exactly the same as your orginal one)
google for that you can find it, if not contact me and I will send your some URLs.

For the benefit of those who will apply for HSMP:
Since, I was quite concerned if P-60 issued above would be accepted,
I have got my P-60 stamped and signed by Tax authorities in UK. This is to clear any doubt sorrounding its validity. Now, I've got approval as well.

Thanks!
