1) Usually sent by post for a minor (no ceremony)svetiksvet wrote:hi All,
appreciate all help to fill the form correctly, and answer all my enquires.
1. When application is approved, do they send certificate by post or parent has to go for child's ceremony?
2. Under which section i should apply if my son is 8y.o. he holds EU passport. his father has received his British passport in May, and i (mother) have applied for naturalization 3 month ago. i'm also EU passport holder a.t.m.
3. sections 3.1 and 3.2 are not applicable to us??
4. If childs father doesn't live in uk, will this not affect the application??

2) Where was child born - UK or abroad?
3) Depends on answer to 2 (but probably does not apply - TBC)
4) Depends on answer to #2;
also may depend upon on the reason for such an absence/separation & whether or not father has parental responsibility/plays any part in upbringing of child, has any contact, has given (or can give) consent (etc etc)
2) As minor was born in UK, as soon as one parent (who is an EEA national) has PR or naturalises with British citizenship then child can be registered as a citizen:svetiksvet wrote:born in uk

form MN1 - section 1(3) of BNA.
3) Section 3 does not apply in your case
Note: as minor is under 10 years old, Section 4 ('good character') does not apply either & may be skipped too.
(However just because Home Office is not checking does not mean Santa is not checking )
4) As you are applying for citizenship you (presumably) have PR so you may apply to register son
You can apply to register son now then.svetiksvet wrote:i have PR
You need to inform Home Office of any change of address as they may need to communicate with you about the application - they may (rarely) call applicant for an interview, there may be follow up questions, child will in any case be called to enrol biometrics & ofcourse the registration certificate will be sent out to you.svetiksvet wrote:Do you have any idea if i apply and move house, how do i inform home office and do they need any proof of new address??
Do the best you can with approximate dates (month / year).svetiksvet wrote:what about section 2.3. since we are EU citizens, we have no stamps in our passports, so it's very difficult to remember all dates, i know we were absent maximum only 3 weeks each year
Father's consent is important.svetiksvet wrote:also if child's father is abroad, section 7.1 - does it have to be filled? i made him sign it and send it to us by post. so i have it filled, won't it look dodgy if i declare father staying abroad but form would be filled?
