Earliest date to apply

Post by confused90 » Sun Jan 03, 2016 7:29 am

Hello all,

I got my Tier-1 Entrepreneur visa on 19 February 2013, and entered UK on 03 March 2013.
The visa has an expiry date of 19 June 2016.

All the criteria have been met, including 10 full-time jobs.

As per my understanding, the criteria has to be met within 3 years of visa approval and ILR can be applied 28 days prior so would the start of February be fine?

Your inputs shall be highly appreciated.

Thank you

I think for you it is 3 yrs and 4 months as it is 3 years for those who applied within the UK. As a general rule, you can apply 28/30 days before your visa expires whenever it is. This is what i know. May be someones opinion is different

Post by confused90 » Thu Jan 07, 2016 8:03 am

Also, my passport hasn't got a surname but my UK degree has got my surname on it.. will it be an issue for ILR application?

Your inputs shall be highly appreciated.

Thank you

To apply for entry clearance and/or extension in the past, did you have to submit your degree certificate to fulfill some requirement?

No, I had provided IELTS certificate for entry clearance. I am told I can't use the same IELTS certificate as the test centre isn't on the list and validated by Cambridge ESOL.

ESOL is no longer accepted by HO w.e.f. 12 November 2015.

No,
I believe there's a risk then, because the caseworker may ask for evidence to prove that the degree is yours (e.g. - letter from University confirming that the degree belongs to firstname surname).

Thank you.

The passport page which has my parent's names confirm that the surname is mine, also I have a photographic university ID which could be provided. Would that be sufficient, or should I do IELTS again?
Also is the physical copy of the IELTS results required, or would a copy suffice?

Thanks

You have to convince the caseworker. No one here can tell you whether he/she will be convinced or not. All you can do is explain, provide evidence and hope for the best.

Or,

take an approved English test.

Your choice!!!

Do I need to sign up for the Academic or General version of IELTS?

also, would the physical copy of the certificate be needed?
