Hi All,
I am under Tier 2 General visa since 1st of January, 2014. My visa is valid until January, 2017.
My employer opened a new position and I was thinking to apply to that position because it's better salary and career-wise. Have a few questions regarding this and hope you guys will help (as always!).
1. What's the process of applying for this new role? If my employer advertise the position for required 28 days and then interview me and offer the job, do I need to apply for the new visa first and then get this position? Any nuances regarding this please?
2. If I apply for that role now and extend my visa, can it be extended until Jan 2020 (the month when my 6 year on Tier 2 will expire), I mean can my employer indicate that day in COS or they need to just write in years like 3 years or 5 years?
3. I've got a baby after I've got my Tier 2 visa and didn't apply for her visa yet (just waiting for extension). If I extend my visa now do I need to show bank statements to cover my baby or as she was born here I do not need to do that (I already showed bank statements for original Tier 2 general for me and my wife)? If I need to show the statements, what if the employer will tick the maintenance box in COS, will it do the trick? (all our savings are in my wife's account and I pay for all rents etc from my one so don't have savings in my account).
4. Based from your experience, is this a fairly painful procedure or there are some specifics I need to know? I am generally interested in RLMT: are there any specific nuances I need to know, that might lead to UKBA refusal?
5. Is it better to switch to that role now or just wait until my visa expiration date and then apply for another position?
I know some questions might be silly, but really need your advise guys as I need to decide now. Thanks a million!
