Indian immigration

Post by yogesh_81 » Wed Jan 06, 2016 2:01 pm

Hi CR001,

Just a quick one on this thread. Once the baby gets the citizenship and needs to travel to India with parents still on ILR, can the baby apply for an OCI or an Indian Tourist Visa?

Thanks.

Tourist Visa / OCI for child with parents on ILR

Post by yogesh_81 » Thu Jan 07, 2016 10:59 am

Hi folks,

When both the parents are on ILR and the UK born child gets a British passport and were to travel to India, does the child need to have an Indian Tourist Visa or can he get an OCI stamped on the British passport?

Thanks,
Y

Just to clarify on this further, the child does have an Indian passport currently.

First of all, dual citizenship is not allowed by India. So you cannot keep both british and indian passport for the child. You should surrender one of them.
Secondly, if the child has indian passport why do you think he needs visa in india?
Method of application: NCS Wandsworth
Date of application: 04-07-2015
Date money gone off account: 16-07-2015
letter requesting biometrics: 03-09-2015 (dated 28-08-2015)
biometrics done: 15-09-2015
Approval :10-10-2015 ( dated 01-10-2015)
