Indians working in London

Post by AC77 » Sun Mar 12, 2006 1:09 pm

Hi,

I am from Delhi, India and working as an IT engineer in a company near watford. I have been here for 9 months(on HSMP), and now I am starting to feel quite lonely.

I think, it's really tough to make new friends here. I thought of utilizing this forum to connect with other Indians working in London, since I don't have any friends here apart from a couple of work place colleagues.

so people staying in west (north or south london), let's get in touch...

thanks
ac77

Hi Guys

Welcome to the club. I have been here (UK) for about 2.5 years and can assure you it will get LONLIER as time goes by.

I agree that we need to form a social circle of like minded people with similar cultural values and aspirations.

Will you both please pm your telephone numbers to me? I shall then get in touch.

A bit of background on me - Ex Captain from Indian Army, Came to UK to do an MBA, currently working in Financial Services in London and living in Reading.

Looking forward!

Me too, and live near here as well.
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.

Post by psg » Sat Dec 01, 2007 11:42 am

Hi Guys,
I am a filmmaker and am working on a documentary on the loneliness and living conditions of Indians who have recently come to the UK. I won't put anybody into any trouble, I just need some information about how your lives are. It can be anonymous.
If any of you are willing to tell me their stories please write to me at psg116@yahoo.co.in.

Best Regards

Lonely? Come to London

Post by Ajay Kumar Singh » Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:31 pm

Well yeh its fact and hard realty of life in western countries, you are left to be yourself.

If you are in London you wouldn't complain.

In office we got more Indians than natives ;) so it never lets us down.

I can imagine life in other places. I got one friend in some remote corner in Devon and he complains that he is the only one out there.

Well I'm sure you will find plenty of "Opportunities" to entertain yourself, you have to just look around you.
