Non EU wife and Irish Child to Ireland??

Post by landofhope » Sun Mar 08, 2015 8:06 pm

I live and reside in Ireland, I am an Irish /EU citizen
I am married to a Thai National Non-EEA
My son lives with her in the Thailand, he has both Thai and Irish passports

Since I am not long out of college, I haven't had full time employment and i don't think i'll meet the sponsor requirements as of yet.
Could I ask my parents to sponsor her as she and my son will be staying at the family home? and would a short stay C visa be less of a burden on paper work and then get my wife stamped after she arrives?

Also can a visa under DIRECTIVE 2004/38/EC be obtained as both my son and me are Irish/EU?.....does this only apply to EU citizens moving to another EU state?

Any thoughts or suggestions on the best of doing this is much appreciated
Thank You
