a shameful P60 question

Is it me or is this person at home office looking at my application not know how to read a P60 Form?

i have had a letter back requesting originals to show proof that myself and partner were exercising treaty rights back in 2002, i had sent original p60 on initial application

This is how the top of the p60 read

P60 End of year Certificate 2002-03
Tax year to 5th April 2003

now i might be wrong but to me that is a P60 for 2002, i am just thinking out aloud that maybe this case worker has seen this P60 and thought that it relates to 2003 which would explain the request again or maybe they have just lost the originals, painful as you cant get original P60s again not have i keep employment letters and payslips dating back to 2002

So can any one confirm 2002 or 2003 ?

It is in respect of your salary earned from 6 April 2002 to 5 April 2003. So it covers part of 2002 and 2003.

I suppose the point is that the income could have been earned at any point in the period 2002-2003. It doesn't prove that you were employed at any point in 2002, merely that by April 2003 you had earnt xxxxxx amount of pounds. Maybe contact your employer from that time? Or even get your old bank statements showing your salary being paid in?
