New version of AN Form 01/2016

Post by ohara » Wed Jan 13, 2016 9:30 am

So there is a new version of AN form for Jan 2016, has anyone done a proper comparison? So far I can see a section asking for permanent residence card number and date, which I don't believe was on the old version.

I already have a completely October 2015 form, how long will HO accept this for? As I'll be ready to submit in early February.

I've not done a detailed comparison. But I see the requirement around returning the Settlement BRP once naturalised has been added on page 24-25 in the new form. See http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... l#p1291290

There would normally be a transition period. But I would call your NCS to get some guidance on what they will accept.

As reported by some of the other members, NCS staff may ask you to fill the extra sections from Jan form and take your Oct form. Normally the old form is accepted for up to 28 days but since you cannot escape filling the extra forms, I'd advise to fill the new one.. pain I know but potentially worth in the long run

No need to panic because you can still use the old form up to 28 days. I filled old form when it was changed in November 2015 and HO accepted it

There don't appear to be any critical changes other than the warning that BRP must be returned after ceremony. I don't think I'll be putting my application in until mid February so I completed the new version anyway

Just had a talk to Kent NCS Team ,and got clarified on the following Questions.

1. New version of the AN application :
If you have completed and got the referee signatures the old form , Please fill in the new form and use the same pages from the old application where the referees have signed , as long as the signature date is less than 6 months old this is acceptable .

2. The referee who signs on both the applications and photograph, must sign on the same date .

3. We can use the AN application which is typed /filled ( Provided you have pdf editors available to edit it and fill it).

As you know we get different answers from different councils when asked , this is what I received from Kent council . Answers from other councils may differ . Please check with your council

Hope this helps.

Just curious, how many people have have typed the form electronically? I have, and I did for my EEA(PR) application too. Haven't submitted my AN form yet though, but I don't see why they wouldn't accept one that isn't hand written.

I thought about typing myself but then there were a few questions I wasn't sure of and needed NCS help to figure out so wrote the entire thing for consistency.

I understand some people might want to do that for records and for that reason I would suggest scan the fillled form

If you don't have any doubts on the information to be provided and filled, then the electronic approach would be fine. Though I have to say that I've always hand filled all my previous applications including the AN form, even though I didn't particularly have any doubts to clarify. The only forms I've ever completed electronically are those where you have an online web interface to fill your details (& then generate the form to print) such as schengen and US visa applications.

Hi,
I applied today using "old form'' from october 2015.

I know the new form just came out, is that gonna be an issue? some people have suggested a 28 day period, but where can we confirm this? My referees signed the form before the new version came out

No fbutt50, you can only use old form up to 21 days (not 28 days) from date of publication of new updated form.
