Tier1(G) ILR

Post by shahmir » Sat Nov 21, 2015 9:15 am

Do we need to show any particular maintenance funds for Tier1(G) ILR for main applicant or dependents? (like we showed previous 3 months funds at the time of extension), Sorry if its a repeat question.

I thought I should assume something instead of reading a series of chapters from your link. Tried though but couldn't find answer. And I know it's a simple yes /no answer for someone like you.

Well, if you cannot make an effort to help yourself and read - please wait to be spoon-fed! I am not the one to do it. Sorry!

Explains all, doesn't it?

No offence, but you seem okay to wait 2 days for a ready-made answer, bumping the topic in the interim, but don't want to spend 10 minutes reading the topic I suggested that you read! And if you claim that you are still confused - it just reflects that you don't want to bother yourself.

Anyways, your choice.

Maintenance funds for Tier1(G) ILR?

Post by shahmir » Wed Jan 06, 2016 10:00 pm

Quick question guys, I think i discussed this previously, but unable to find in my previous posts. I am Tier 1 (G) migrant due to apply for ILR exactly after 90 days from today. Do I need any maintenance funds for 90 days in my bank account for myself and three dependents? If yes, I will have to sort this out before the date changes (in two hours). I will really appreciate a quick response from experts and moderators. Thanks

Oh Yes, :))
You're v smart and always helpful.
Today I was 99% sure I don't need maintenance funds. But, I forgot the outcome of this previous conversation. I wanted to be reassured as the clock is ticking. Thanks again. Also, plz check your inbox, in few minutes. :|

Re: Tier 1 to ILR (Employer Letter)

Post by shahmir » Sat Jan 09, 2016 6:11 pm

I am also applying soon for ILR. I am on Tier 1 (G) for nearly five years. When I first entered UK on Tier 1 (G), I lived only a week or two in the UK and then went back home where I lived about 85 days and then returned to UK and since then living here except for few holidays later. So my first absence of 85 days wasn't an annual leave. Later I went abroad on small trips. My total absences in five year period are 150 days and the longest absence was 85 days (the initial one). My question is, can we only go abroad on annual leave and do we need a letter from employer to support this? In my case, I didn't even start a job when I went back home for 85 days. Can this absence of 85 days be a problem for me?

Shahmir,

There is no restriction on travelling abroad while unemployed. You can provide an explanation letter from your self, providing reason for your travel abroad.

Hope this helps.

Sorry I think I couldn't explain well. I got job during my first week here but then I left UK to sort few things out back home that emerged unexpectedly. I couldn't start working except for a three day training. I was already on payroll during training. I returned after 85 days when i started working properly. So, do I have to explain this absence in a letter and do I need any supporting documents from abroad?

Also, the above FAQ's link states

16 (b) If you have time in the UK as a "not-sponsored" migrant under certain immigration categories - UK ancestry; business person; investor; innovator; writer, composer, or artist; retired person of independent means; Tier 1 (General); HSMP (not applying under Appendix S of the rules, i.e. - after 5 years) - then absences must be for reasons connected with the applicant’s purpose for being in the UK or for serious or compelling compassionate reasons.

So does that mean that the 85-days period about which I have mentioned above can only be counted if these absences were for serious or compelling compassionate reasons?

Please can anyone explain this, thank-you.
