Passport Query

Hi

I just called passport office to check progress of my application. They said they have sent a letter to my counter signatory. I just wanted to know what would normally the letter say and is it a normal process?

I have informed my signatory that the letter is coming.

No, they do not normally contact referees. They might just need to clarify something.
