November EC applicants status

Post by aks121179 » Wed Dec 05, 2007 11:27 am

Hi everyone,

This is a place for those who applied for EC in November 07 to post progress,etc... I applied on the 12th of Nov in Bangalore VFS and still haven't received any update. I was able to find out after emailing them that they received the integra verification report on the 27th of Nov, which means it took 12 working days including the day of submission to get the verification back. It's been 6 working days since they got it but still haven't received any new updates. Everytime I call them, they keep saying it's under verification with the BHC.

Is there anyone who applied in Nov and has received their EC already?

EC applied on 23rd Nov

Post by ukdreamer » Wed Dec 05, 2007 1:01 pm

I have applied EC from Bangalore VFC on 23rd Nov.
Status by SMS 57333 is still the same 'Your application has been sent to British High Commision'.

Any idea what other messages will be send by sms and on which event they will update the SMS Messges?

Thanks

Unfortunately, the SMS service is crap. When I SMS, it gives me the same exact message. I don't think it changes until they courier it, but I may be wrong.

--- Mail from BHC ----

Thank you for your e-mail.

UKvisas India are piloting an arrangement with a commercial company, IntegraScreen. IntegraScreen act on our behalf by verifying the documents submitted by the applicant, before an Entry Clearance Officer at the British Deputy High Commission considers the visa application. Some of the documents that you have submitted in support of your application will be verified as part of this pilot project. This service is being provided to you free of charge.

After your submit your application at VFS, they will send the documents to IntegraScreen. Once the documents have been verified, IntegraScreen will contact us directly with their report, and we will then be able to make a decision on your visa application.

We aim to make a decision on your application within 15 working days from the day after you lodge the application with VFS. You can check the status of your application on the VFS website http://www.vfs-uk.co.in after 15 working days.

Yours truly,

I have looked at posts in this forum before, that it takes more time if someone applies from Bangalore. Thats why, though I work in Bangalore,I applied from Chennai, since my native is Chennai.

aks121179, don't worry.. just mail Chennai.Visaenquiry@fco.gov.uk and ask them whether they have received the Integra check atleast.

But 7th to 11th is holiday for BDHC.. so, it may take another week for you.

SMS enquiry is an ultimate waste of money.

Its better to mail and get the info from them.

They did email me back informing me when they received the verification from Integra so I know that's done. They got it back on the 27th of Nov, but no clue why they haven't done anything after that. Latest reply I got was they are experiencing a heavy volume of applications so it's taking longer, but no timeframes were given.

P.S. I also found out after calling the High Commission that they will be working on processing applications they currently have. Although VFS will be closed for these few days, BHC will continue processing applications they have.

They should respond cause I had called them up in the morning. The only caveat to this is they said although they will continue processing applications, they cannot guarantee anything for vfs. I'm not completely sure what this means but I think it refers to vfs delivering the passports (i.e. pickup at their office or blue dart couriers)

Hi Everyone,

I got EC stamped from 4th Dec for 2 yrs. I collected the passport from VFS on 6th Dec. Thanks everyone for all their help. Do ask me anything if anybody has any queries. I had asked for post-dated EC of 15th Jan 2008, but I got it from 4th Dec.

Hi everyone,

I finally got my passport back with the visa stamped for 2 years. I had faxed them a letter requesting them to expedite my application because my wife are child are in the UK and because 19 days had lapsed since I submitted my application.

Submitted to VFS B'lore - Nov 12th
Received by BHC Chennai - Nov 13th (1 day)
Integra verification report sent to BHC Chennai - Nov 27th (12 days)
Received Passport with EC - Dec 8th (20 days)

The above timeframes (i.e. days) are working days. So overall it took 4 weeks for me to get this. I'm not sure if sending them the letter had anything to do with it but the day after I sent it, they seem to have closed my application. Thanks again to everyone. Best of luck.

P.S. Blue Dart sucks. They called me on Saturday telling me my passport has come but told me they can't deliver it that day because I'm too far. WTF. Why do we pay them money to courier it. I'm going to complain to VFS about them. It's nonsense. Not sure if anyone else has had any problems with these people.
