I think we new this. Since SBS and SAS were abolished this has been the case.

Don't panic though - Working Holidaymakers will come under 'youth mobility tier 5'.

i thought non skilled workers were never allowed in the uk to start with anyway...

how do non skilled ppl qualify to come here?
plus,
when they go on about saying that theres too many non-eu migrants in the uk, what do they usually refer to? as far as i know it is really hard to get here unless u can prove that u have have a skill and u can fill a job in the uk that no one in britian nor the eu can do . so how come theres loads of non eu ppl here?

(besides the fact u can come as a spouse)

Now this 40K salary part can be a problem for many of already present people who will go for their FLR next year.

"Under the new system, someone aged under 28 with a PhD, for example, who has previous annual earnings of at least £16,000 a year, will gain the 75 points necessary for entry.

University graduates who have not gone on to do a masters or PHD would need to prove previous earnings of at least £40,000 a year to gain entry. "

I don't think those situations apply for people who are already here who are applying for FLR/extensions. For instance:

- the under-28 (20 pts) with a PhD (50 pts) from a UK univ (5 pts) will need no earnings to qualify for FLR
- the over-32 (0 pts) with only a BA (30 points) will likely have earnings in the UK (5 pts) and thus would only need min earnings of £35k (40 points)

My concern was whether they will change income windows for the erning points. Like you may need to earn 40K for as many points which you can get with an income of say 35K today.

But the published proposed points table is exactly the same as the current one.
