Tier 2 Extension Questions

Post by giuliagiulia » Fri Jan 29, 2016 2:35 pm

Could the employer pay your visa expenses, especially since it is their duty to ensure that you are provided with the right documents according to your status.

In addition, is there a way in the ukvi rules for which you could avoid to pay twice the health surcharge - the health surcharge is very recent now, it is unfair for the fee to be paid twice.

The question relates to Tier 2 visa categories and job types.

Is it allowed to extend Tier 2 status given that my current status is a Tier 2 general with a contract that would require sponsorship that might fall into the Tier 2 general shortage occupation category or with a different job type.

It is at the company's discretion if they choose to pay your visa fees. Not many do as it is generally the applicants responsibility.

The immigration health surcharge has to be paid for each application that is made. You will not be able to submit an application at all if the IHS is not paid. It is not HO that chooses for you to change sponsors if you still have a valid visa with another sponsor.

Lets leave the high and continuously increasing rates for visa application alone.

The IHS relates to NHS service that will be used for free. Even if one changes sponsors why should they pay for the NHS service as many times as they change sponsors. I was just asking if the unlucky individual that had already paid once had found anywhere any rules so as not to pay again but apparently from CR001 answer - thanks CR001 - it looks like one has to pay each time they apply.
