Online Application for UK Ancestry Dep visas

Hi All,

Have tried to find more info on this topic on the boards but cant seem to - perhaps I have missed it somewhere along the way. Anyone who knows the online system well please help.

Please assist me, I qualify for Ancestry through my Grandmother so I am applying with my husband and son to go that route however, I need some guidance with regards to their applications online and how I go about doing it.

When creating a new application the following is asked:

Reason for visit: I selected "Work" seen as though its through Ancestry

Visa Type: I select "Non Points Based Working Visa"

Visa Sub Type: I select "Dependants more than six months" (as its a 5 year visa)


Would the above selection be correct if applying for my husband and son??

Once in the actual application form there is a section called UK Sponsor (Which I am guessing will be myself?) in this section it asks "Status in UK" the options are - British Citizen - EEA National - Permanent Resident - Temporary Resident. Would I select "Temporary Resident" ??? It also asks for an address in this box as well would I put my UK address as we are staying with family the first couple months or do I put my South African Address?

The reason as to why I am so confused is that we are all applying at the same time and are all planning on leaving together. I don't want to fill out anything incorrect as it is quite a pricey affair and want all to be right first time round.

Please help! I would greatly appreciate it!

Is there no option to select 'apply to accompany'?

No there isn't any such option?!

Just dependants longer than 6 months

I have never done the online forms so don't actually know what to suggest. what you have selected appears to be correct.
