expired ielts

my friend IELTS in 2010 which he submitted with his Initial Tier 1 general application. he got ILR IN 2016.Do he need to take IELTS again as it has expired already.

please help

It would be wise to wait until he is ready to apply for British citizenship to ensure any English qualification meets the requirement at that time.
