Set (O) form Queries

Post by middletier 1 » Sun Feb 14, 2016 5:38 pm

Hi,
I have the following queries on the set (o) from, please can you help on this.

Section 4.3- English language requirement: I don't know which option to click, as the form states only abt the bachelor/masters dergree in UK. My degree is from Germany and I have got 10 points from pbs calculator and as mentioned in the FAQ I got the webpage printed, however I don't know which option to select for filling the from?

Section 6.1- when did you first enter the UK, in my case it was 07/01/2010.
Section 6.2- since then absences from UK, in my case I have got my Tier 1 G visa valid from Nov'09 and I came to UK on 7th Jan'10 and below are my absences;
Date From --- Date To ---- Days Outside The UK
26-Mar-10 ----- 27-Jun-10 ---- 92
09-Jul-10 ----- 07-Nov-10 ----- 120
14-Nov-10 ----- 13-Aug-11 ----- 271
But my 5 year period starts from Mar'11 to Mar'16, I have back calculated from Mar'11 and my absences are as below,
Year 1 = Mar'16 ----- Mar'15---- 24 (days outside UK)
Year 2 = Mar'15 ----- Mar'14---- 30 (days outside UK)
Year 3 = Mar'14 ---- Mar'13----- 20 (days outside UK)
Year 4 = Mar'13 ---- Mar'12----- 24 (days outside UK)
Year 5 = Mar'12----- Mar'11------144 (days outside UK)

Now my question is do I need to list out all the absences since 7/1/2010 or can I start from Mar'11 to Mar'16 as my 5 year period starts from Mar'11. I request the forum members please can you advise how to fill section 6.2.

Section 6.11. absences spent outside of the Crown dependencies and the UK- I have no absences spent outside of the Crown dependencies, however do I need to state the UK absences again in addition to section 6.2.

Absences are counted back from the date of application. So if you intend to apply on March 10th 2016 (for example), then that's the date you would start counting your yearly absences from. The date you first entered the country isn't relevant for this.

6.11 would only apply to those who answered 6.9, if you didn't then you would just skip that question.

Hi cs95tdg,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
for section 6.1, I will enter the date as 21/3/2011 as I am completing my 5 years period on 20/3/2016 and then I will give all of my absences from 20 mar'16 till 21 mar'11 in section 6.2.
Once again thanks a lot...

Hi,
Someone asked a similar question earlier and I think for 6.1 you should enter March 2011 date

Hi, thanks for the replies
in section 7.13: How long have you lived in the UK? I am counting the 5 years (Mar'11-Mar'16) minus my total absences 252 days (apprx. 8 months), which is 4 years 4 months. Is this ok or do I need to count my previous stay since 7th Jan 2010. Please clarify me.
Thanks

You should enter the number of years & months you've lived in the UK since you first arrived (Jan 2010) here, without deducting your absences. Absences are nothing but short periods you've been away from the country where you live. That's the context of the question - they aren't asking you to enter the exact number of days you've spent in the UK.
