FLR (M)

Post by madhav.dadi » Tue Feb 09, 2016 9:57 pm

Hi,
I have ILR visa last week and I am about to apply for a dependant visa for my wife. I am in a big confusion what type of application that I have to apply. FLR (M) or Point based Tier 1? Please. At the moment she is on Tier 1 General Partner visa and she is not eligible for ILR.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks.

She can continue to extend her Tier 1 Dependent visa until she qualifies for ILR.

Not sure how long she has been in the UK, but FLR(M) will reset her clock to zero and she will have to start again from scratch with a new 5 year residence period.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

May I know the requirements for FLR (M) please. Balance maintenance requirement for 3 months is no where mentioned in the application but I am checking if any one showed.

Life in UK test: I believe its not required as she is just applying for a dependant visa?.

Thanks.

You also need to meet the financial requirement of £18,600pa (more if you have non British children).

Switching to FLR(M) will reset her clock for ILR to zero and she will have to wait another 5 years on FLR(M) before she can get ILR.

She will lose the time spent as Tier 1 Dependent and cannot use the time towards the 5 years if she switches to FLR(M).

How long has your spouse been in the UK?

She will lost that year and will have to start from zero if she switches to FLR(M).

Or she can continue to extend her PBS dependent visa.
