spouse visa valid date

Hey guys,

My husband got his spouse visa but the valid from date is from next month till April. Does that mean he cant travel before the valid from date? I always thought u have to travel within 30 days after you receive your visa.

He may enter the UK only during the period of the visa's validity.

What did he put down as his date of travel?

We put travel dates down for January.
