Visa for mother-in-law

Post by bob0209 » Tue Dec 11, 2007 11:03 am

hello,

I hold a british passport and my wife is on a settlement visa (Indian national); she is pregnant, the baby is due by April. I want to bring my MIL to the UK to help my wife for 3 months. The question is can i state this in the sponsership letter? do i have to get any other documents to prove this? like letter from gp stating my wife is pregnant?

someone told me that i should not state the pregnancy in the sponsership letter cos the embassy will reject it thinking my MIL will become a child minder and will not return ;is this true? what is the process and procedure to bring her to the UK for 3 months.

Thanks in advance.

You can mention the pregnancy BUT you must make clear that she will not be a child minder but wants to visit to be with her daughter. Include evidence that she will return home.
